ENERGY WISE BOARD OUTREACH

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable energy practices, Energy Wise Alliance (EWA) is committed to ensuring the success and prosperity of the organization. The EWA Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the organization's mission and goals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and making decisions that guide the organization toward a sustainable and equitable future.

MISSION: BUILDING community power through energy education.

WE NEED COMMITTEE CHAIRS & COMMITTEE MEMBERS!

BOARD COMMITTEES: The role of any committee is to support the work of the Board, the staff, and the organization as an evolving entity, keeping the prosperous future of EWA a reality and providing recommendations to the Board.

All committees have co-chairs and a Board member sits on each committee, not necessarily as the chair of the committee. Minutes are kept of each meeting of a committee. Committees report monthly progress and actions to the Board. If you are passionate about sustainable energy practices and want to contribute your expertise to the Energy Wise Alliance, we encourage you to apply. Use the BLUE BUTTON to submit your application or use the BLACK BUTTON for additional information.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF BOARD MEMBERS?

Members serve for two-year terms starting in January and ending in December. New board members are selected by the current Board. Board members are expected to work collaboratively to develop sustainable energy practices that focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. They are required to participate in monthly general board meetings for an hour and a half, work on committee(s), and support committee chairs. This commitment includes about 5 hours per month on tasks such as attending bi-monthly board meetings, participating on a committee or taskforce, “get-or-give” fundraising responsibilities ($500/year), bringing your networking resources to bear, and becoming a champion of our shared cause.

Energy is the golden thread that connects economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability.
— QuBan Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations
